The Library of the Institute of Philosophy



The Library of the Institute of Philosophy of ZRC SAZU operates within the framework of the SAZU Library. Information on materials received by the Library after 1991 is included in the COBIB mutual database in the COBISS system, while older materials are included in the Alphabetical Catalogue 1938-1991.

Borrowing materials

Materials may ONLY be borrowed by prior arrangement, via e-mail!

1. If a search for material in the COBISS+ database states Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Ljubljana, and then Filozofski inštitut, this means that the material is in the Library of the Institute of Philosophy. Please email us at fi@zrc-sazu.si with the number of the item, which is listed just below the Institute (i.e. the identification number of the item, e.g. 203394). Note: even if the status of the material says “available – outside loan”, the material may not be available because the lending library is not fully electronic. Please be sure to include your name next to the identification number so that we can verify that you are registered with the SAZU Library.

2. If the material is available, we will notify you by e-mail. If you are not registered with the SAZU Library, we will ask you to send us the information needed to register by e-mail: fi@zrc-sazu.si.

  • Status (student, employee, etc.)
  • Permanent address
  • Telephone
  • ID No.

There is no membership fee; the loan period is 21 days with the possibility of renewal. Please send a renewal request by e-mail to fi@zrc-sazu.si.

3. Picking up materials

Materials can be picked up at Knjigarna Azil, Novi trg 2, ground floor, Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 18.00, as well as on Saturdays from 10.00 to 14.00.

Returning materials

Materials can be returned at Knjigarna Azil, Novi trg 2, ground floor, Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 18.00 , as well as on Saturdays from 10.00 to 14.00.

The library is located at Novi trg 2, 3rd floor, in the Secretariat of the Institute of Philosophy.
