Introduction to Ethics and Death: Bataille and Derrida

Ervik Cejvan from Lund University will present the findings of his research on ethics and death. The lecture departs from two interrelated questions: Is it possible to die one’s own death, and what kind of subject can do so? The speaker will explore these questions through the lens of the economy of death, as developed by Jacques Derrida in Donner la mort and Georges Bataille in La part maudite.
