Slovenian Punk & Photography

You are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the Great Reception Hall of Cankarjev dom. (The exhibition will be on display in the CD Gallery from December 5, 2023 to January 30, 2024).

Slovenian Punk & Photography is a comprehensive exhibition that connects photography with various aspects of the Slovenian punk movement from 1977 to the mid-1980s, as well as the periods before and after punk. The exhibition also encompasses subcultural and alternative events in Ljubljana during the 1980s, including a focus on the emergence of the LGBT+ community in the 1980s, with groups like Laibach and other bold and subversive activities.

Presentation of the book Photographic Incarnations by Janet Štravs.
Janet Štravs' book Photographic Incarnations was published in January 2003. In 2023, we are publishing a reprint with a new essay accompanying the book, which today, 20 years later, excites us even more. These photographs push the boundaries of artistic expression, exploring themes of sensuality and sexuality.
