Aleš Mendiževec's research focuses on the field of ontology, political philosophy and epistemology. His work is centered around the concept of contingency (Althusser, Malabou, Meillassoux) and explores its potentialities in political theory (so called Western Marxism) and its role and meaning in different sciences (e.g. theory of information). In recent years he is exploring the contemporary phenomenon of posthumanism (in connection to postmodernism and antihumanism) and its relation with technological development in 20th century.
